HARMONIZED SALES TAX

In July of 2009 the British Columbia government announced its intention to harmonize its retail system and adopt the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) effective July 1, 2010. The harmonized sales tax in B.C. will be 12 per cent, the lowest for the provinces that have agreed to combine their provincial sales taxes with the GST.
